From 6 to 9 May 2015, the Palace of Fine Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels will be the scenery for the 6th Congress for people with special needs and extra talents, entitled “Creating Social Art.”

The event, with art as a central theme, is set to function as an international platform for people with intellectual disabilities to connect with each other on a deeper level through workshops, discussion groups, street theater, and several performances. Art and creating art together are central themes of the Congress, and the interaction between participants is meant to promote inspiration, support new ideas and urge participants to develop something new through cooperation. Within this context, Brussels serves as a symbolic location since the city hosts the European Union, which is considered to be the ultimate example of cooperation on common goals across countries and nationalities.

The Congress is organized for and by adults with intellectual disabilities from across the world, and will welcome 650 participants from Europe, North America, Latin America and beyond.

The event is multilingual and will be held in Dutch, English, German and French.
