Belgian association AFrAHM is set to host a day event for people with intellectual disabilities on 6 December.
The ‘Day of the Expression of People with Intellectual Disabilities’ will take place in Brussels in the offices of the association and will feature a range of activities and discussions with various organisations.
Among those attending the event will be the Self-Advocates of the Centre Region (ARC) who will explain how they voice their opinions and share their concerns as self-advocates.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to listen to music and discuss in small groups the issues affecting them in their daily lives, from housing to how to spend your free time. At the close of the event, a meal will also be provided by AFrAHM.
The event is available to attend for people with intellectual disabilities over the age of 16 and parents are advised to allow their children to participate alone so as to give the opportunity to speak as self-advocates.
For more information on this event, you can see the invitation here detailing how to register.
Please note that this event will take place in French.
