International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated worldwide on 3 December. “Break Barriers, Open Doors: for an inclusive society and development for all” was a featured topic of this year’s International Day, stressing the importance of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the post-2015 development framework.

Many people with intellectual disabilities and their families cannot take part in society.

In the run-up to the European elections, the European Network for Independent Living (ENIL), together with Onafhankelijk Leven, is organizing a solidarity march through Brussels, on 5 May, in support of people with disabilities.
