Inclusion Europe president Jyrki Pinomaa wrote a letter about the Coronavirus emergency, expressing his concern about the situation but, at the same time, discussing how to keep in touch and stay focused on our priorities.
In order to keep the discussion going around the topics that matter for people with intellectual disabilities and their families, Inclusion Europe decided to host a series of online meetings.
“Inclusive Schools” (called “InScool”, in short)
is a project that wants to support inclusive education in Europe.
Inclusion Europe had an interview with one of the organisers
to learn more about the project.
Eirini Kareta is EU Programmes Manager at the British Council and one of the key organisers of the project “Inclusive Schools” (“InScool”, in short). We interviewed Ms. Kareta as part of our campaign of 2020 focused on inclusive education, motivated to learn more about the InScool project.
Giving the Coronavirus emergence in Europe,
we decided to share some information in easy-to-read
about the virus.
The information comes from different organisations
and is in multiple languages.
Thibeau Bastien, a 22-year-old sportsman from Belgium has, together with his “sailing buddy” Matthias, achieved an impressive track record in sailing. After joining Unified Sailing Belgium in 2013, he became European champion in 2015 and in 2017, won gold at the Special Olympics World Games in 2015 in Los Angeles and in 2019 in Abu Dhabi.
In the context of our campaign for last year, we published a final document on the topic of legal capacity and citizenship, presenting an overview of what a lack of legal capacity means for people with intellectual disabilities across the European Union.
