etr Inclusion Europe and 4 of its members
created a project called Safe Surfing.The Safe Surfing project teaches
persons with intellectual disabilities
how to stay safe when using the Internet.

The training was available in 5 languages:
English, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish

The course was made up of 5 classes
which took place online.

The topics of the classes were:

  • Facebook and browser safety.
  • How to stay safe using the internet and applications.
  • Dangers of the internet.
  • How to use the internet safely and protect my personal data.
  • A summary of main points.

After the training finished we asked
everyone who took part what they thought about it.
Most people said it was easy-to-understand,
they enjoyed it and they learned useful things from it.

 

Our work brings the voice of people with intellectual disabilities and their families where decisions about their future are made.

This has always been incredibly important. It is even more so with the Covid pandemic drastic impact on their rights and lives.

Being visible and vocal on issues directly affecting millions of people requires your support.
