The European Expert Group on the Transition from Institutional to Community-based Care (EEG) will hold the "Towards Inclusion conference" on 16 January in Brussels, Belgium.
The purpose of the checklist is to ensure EU funds in the 2021-2027 programming period contribute to independent living and inclusion in the community.
Inclusion Europe, alongside other organisations, has endorsed a statement and key recommendations on the Right to Family, recognised under international law.
The “Europe in Action” conference happened from 5-7 June.
For the conference, we went to Vilnius.
Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania.
We talked about independent living for people with intellectual disabilities. And about inclusion.
Inclusion Europe's Secretary-General José Smits gave a summary of "Europe in Action" at the end of the conference. Here you can read the full text of her speech.
Inclusion Europe went to Barcelona for a meeting of the Human Rights working group at the offices of our member Som Fundació.
This meeting was a great opportunity to update members about our work, but also to learn their news.
Our director Milan Šveřepa: "I spent 2 days in Croatia last week learning about the situation of children and of adults with intellectual disabilities being segregated in institutions."
