Many people with intellectual disabilities
and their families
cannot take part in society.
Some reasons are:
- discrimination
- not finding a job with a fair salary
- not having enough money
to care for a family member
with a disability.

When we talk about poverty
we need to think about the needs
of people with intellectual disabilities
and their families.
The European Pillar of Social Rights
and the Work-Life balance
are 2 good texts to work on these topics.

To make things better
we need:
- more inclusive employment
for people with intellectual disabilities - more possibilities
to take part in the political and public life
for people with intellectual disabilities.
