Pedagogy doctor Mikaela Björklund has been elected new chairwoman of Inclusion Europe’s member FDUV. She will take office on 1 January 2018 for three years.

“I see it as a great vote of confidence and an even greater responsibility to lead a federation like FDUV. I hope my knowledge and experience will be useful”, she said upon her election. “It is important that Swedish-speakers with intellectual disabilities and their relatives are heard and that the needs of this minority within the minority are met.”

FDUV is the association of Swedish-speaking people with intellectual disabilities in Finland. It represents eleven regional associations and the National Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities Steg för Steg. The associations are active throughout Sweden, and together have approximately 2 800 members.

FDUV is made up of different associations throughout Finland.

This also includes

the National Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities

Steg för Steg.

These associations have nearly 3000 members.
