Carmen Jiménez Recena, 23, is the first Spanish woman with Down Syndrome who went to stay abroad in the context of the Erasmus+ programme.

French member organisation is launching two great projects this month, focused on voting rights for people with intellectual disabilities. 
Carmen Jiménez Recena is 23 years old. 
She is from Spain and she has Down Syndrome. 
She is a pharmacy technician. 
Pharmacy technicians   
assist pharmacists in their work. 
Carmen took part in the Erasmus programme 
and went to Portugal. 
On 19 January, 8 men with intellectual disabilities were killed by a fire in a “care home” in Vejprty, Czechia. Another 30 people were injured. Messages of solidarity and concern about the situation of institutions in Europe came from all over the world.
